Primary Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Designing and implementing overall recruiting strategy
  • Conduct full cycle recruiting process from sourcing to on-boarding, including but not limited to; verifying specifications of the job descriptions, posting positions, screening and short-listing candidates, interview preparation, and conducting background checks
  • Implement effective recruitment strategies to attract passive job seeker
  • Produce a robust candidate pipeline for frequent and hard-to-fill positions
  • Consulting with hiring managers to discover staff requirements and better understand critical job elements
  • Use recruiting tools like tests and assignments to assess candidates’ skills
  • Maintain communications and correspondence with candidates, ensuring all candidates receive feedback and have a positive experience throughout the process
  • In collaboration with the hiring manager and Director of Human Resources, skillfully negotiate with and extend offers to candidates.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork ensuring legislation requirements are met
  • Suggest and attend job fairs and career events

 Learning and Development

  • Advising company leaders and executives on issues related to training and development, which are pertinent to the needs of the organization
  • Identifying personnel and supervisors who are in in need of additional training
  • Designing in-house materials and resources for employee development and education
  • Integrate different learning modes, such as coaching, classroom instruction, online learning and action learning
  • Managing the budget for the organization’s training processes
  • Advising managers as well as supervisors on how they can contribute to the training and development of their fellow personnel

 Talent Management

  • Development of annual succession planning process.
  • Recommend L&D options for high-potential individuals
  • Work with supervisors to ensure ongoing development of high potential individuals
  • Oversee development of statewide Sales Trainees
  • Manage annual performance evaluation process
  • Know, understand, and abide by all Federal and State laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages
  • Understand and comply with all State and Federal regulations regarding the sale and promotion of assigned products
  • Attend, participate, and complete all company regulatory and required trainings
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Essential Characteristics

  • Previous experience handling benefits administration, policy administration, performance appraisal processes and recruitment
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
  • Familiar with an HRIS database, ADP Workforce Now experience a plus
  • Experience working in a union environment a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Must have at least 5 years of Human Resources experience, with progressive levels of responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • PHR or SPHR a plus
  • Experience working in family-owned company a plus
