• Job Title: Night Shipping Supervisor – St. Louis

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the floor supervision of night shipping employees in accordance with Major Brands’ policies, while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws. Responsibilities include daily planning, assigning and directing work activities; rewarding and disciplining employees; interviewing, hiring, training and developing staff; addressing complaints and resolving employee issues while consulting with Human Resources as appropriate
  • Accountable for leading the proper operation of the automated material handling system which includes a computerized merge and sortation system. Includes training & managing select hourly employees in the operation of the system
  • Responsible for managing driver check-in function for delivery drivers. This includes verifying that driver forms are completed accurately, verifying product returns, ensuring proper customer credits and accounting for driver collection of CODs
  • Provides back-up router support, as needed, which includes the construction of delivery routes utilizing our AS400 or Roadnet platform, printing & sorting invoices, compilation of driver forms & manifests and communicating route information to warehouse operations
  • Provides back-up coverage for the Night Warehouse Manager which includes; management of the facility, floor supervision and printing and distribution of nightly paperwork
  • Completes production reporting and analyzes warehouse data with the Night Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient & effective operation of the warehouse and its employees
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition so as to ensure a safe and secure work environment
  • Processes employee timecards through our ADP Time and Attendance system as needed
  • On an infrequent basis, be responsible for opening and/or closing of a shift or the facility along with being on an alarm call list to support security emergencies
  • Must be available for occasional weekend sales takes
  • Know, understand, and abide by all Federal and State laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages
  • Understand and comply with all State and Federal regulations regarding the sale and promotion of assigned products
  • Attend, participate, and complete all company regulatory and required trainings
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College Degree or transferable experience and college coursework is preferred
  • At least 5 years of warehousing experience which should include at least 1 year of supervisory responsibilities. Preference is for warehouse work to have occurred in a facility which utilized material handling systems (conveyor, sorter, etc.), wave control software and/or warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Experienced & certified in the operation of material handling equipment (fork trucks, reach trucks, etc.)
  • Logistics background is a plus
  • Experience in a Union environment preferred
