JOB TITLE: Sales Trainee

The Sales Associate Trainee is a new role at Major Brands, one crucial to the development of future sales and management talent. As a Sales Trainee, you will have the unique opportunity to gain a broad perspective on all merchandising and sales functions.
Here are some highlights of the opportunities:
Merchandising/Event Management
- Perform store resets, manage inventory & assist Sales Associates.
- Ensure all merchandising and special selling initiatives meet Major Brands’ standards and customer needs.
- Lead the set-up of supplier meetings, sales programs and new product launches.
Account Management
- Shadow Sales Associates in all on and off-premise accounts.
- Gain full responsibility for running and managing sales routes when Sales Associates are unavailable.
Business Project
- The capstone of your training program is a Business Project where you research and analyze a business opportunity or internal process, develop a series of strategic alternatives and provide a recommendation that will enhance the company’s performance. This project provides opportunities to interact with several key managers and culminates in a presentation to senior leadership.

- Sales Trainees at Major Brands must enjoy working with people. People buy our products. Product sales are a direct result of listening to and connecting with different people in different situations – quickly.
- Sales Trainees must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. And, they must be proficient in using various communication tools and technology to keep customers, peers, and managers apprised of their efforts.
- Sales Trainees at Major Brands are required to manage multiple tasks, accounts, and work with more than 5,000 SKUs. As a result, you must be a quick study, self-organized and able to use planning tools to effectively serve customers and take advantage of new opportunities.
