JOB TITLE: Wine Supervisor

The Wine Sales Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of sales representatives to ensure marketing of Major Brands’ wine products to a wide array of valued customers.  This position supports sales representatives with planning and monitors performance to ensure company sales goals and quotas are met.  

Essential Duties

·          Responsible for coordinating and supervising sales representatives to ensure customer satisfaction, achievement of all sales goals/quotas, and marketing of company products.

·          Organizes and leads sales meetings to communicate sales goals/quotas.

·          Coordinate new item kickoff meetings

·          Conduct weekly 1 on 1 sessions with Wine Representatives

·           Develop relationship with all key on and off premise wine buyers.

·          Develop productive business relationships with all customers; assist sales representatives with maintaining customer relationships.  Solicits customer feedback to ensure high level of customer service.

·          Assist sales representatives with the resolution of sales and market related issues.

·          Reviews sales, marketing, and merchandising records and remote order entry unit (ROE) transmissions for sales representatives to ensure proper territory planning and execution of sales calls.

·          Assists in monitoring sales performance through analysis of goals/quotas and accompanying sales representatives on sales calls.

·          Keeps informed of company products and maintains awareness of activities and products of competitors.

·          Understands and complies with all State and Federal regulations regarding the sale and promotion of assigned products

·          Coordinates communication between sales representatives and Operations regarding distribution issues.

·          Maintains and operates personal or company automobile so that assigned duties are performed while complying with the company Driving Policy

·          Attend key supplier meetings and works with same suppliers in market  

·          Develop, coordinate, and manage large trade wine tastings in the market

·          Identify and develop new accounts

·          Work with teams outside the wine department when consultation is needed on wine lists

·          Write performance reviews for all sales representatives as it pertains to wine sales

·          Review weekly preplans from sales representatives and follow up on execution of objectives

·          Spend 60% of time out of the office and 40% of time in the office

·          Document sales representative activity to ensure accurate yearly reviews

·          Run sales territories when representatives are on vacation

·          Coordinate Wine Educator visits to the market

·          Supervise and train all representatives on how to sell wine

·          Train new hires

·          May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

 

Requirements:

·          Must have at least 5 years of selling experience and at least 3 years of experience selling wine

·          Must have on- and off-premise experience.

·          Strong understanding of shelf management preferred

·          Strong Relationship management skills

·          Supervisor/Manager experience preferred but not necessary

·          Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products

 

Education:

·          Bachelor’s degree required

·          Have the ability to listen and connect with customers

·          Communication must always be professional and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of diverse customers

·          Must be proficient in using various communication tools and technology to keep customers, peers, and managers apprised of their efforts

·          Must be highly organized and have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment                        

·          Must have the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively, while dealing with a variety of requests throughout the day

·          Superior research and follow-up skills required

·          Must have a clear driving record in accordance with Major Brands’ Driving Policy

·          Ability to lift 40 pounds
